Supply Collection to Build Fire Buckets

As Disasters Continue Across Mountain Sky, the Church Responds

Across the Mountain Sky Conference, communities continue to face an especially difficult summer of wildfire, extreme heat, drought and flooding.
 
In Colorado, the Aspen Acres Fire has burned nearly 100,000 acres and destroyed more than 775 structures in Pueblo and Custer counties, while other major fires continue near Ouray, Cortez and Leadville. In Utah, the Cottonwood and Babylon fires have ranked among the largest and most destructive wildfires in the country this season. Northern Montana continues recovering from significant flooding around Glacier National Park, while extreme heat, drought and dry thunderstorms are increasing wildfire concerns across our region.

The need is great—and United Methodists are responding.
